Dr Patricia Por King Yin
(Chairperson)
Dr Patricia Por is a graduate of Trinity College, University of Dublin. She was a lecturer in the Department of Pathology, Medical Faculty, University of Malaya prior to her appointment as resident Consultant Pathologist at Assunta Hospital. She relocated to Singapore in 1987 where she was Consultant Pathologist at The Medical Laboratory (S) Pte Ltd and subsequently at Mount Alvernia Hospital. She returned to Malaysia in 1997 and joined Assunta Hospital, where she resumed her work as Consultant Pathologist until 31 March 2017. She has since retired from practice.
Dr Ted Hoo Hock Wah
(Board Member)
Dr Hoo is a medical graduate of Leeds University, United Kingdom. He completed post graduate studies in Anaesthesiology (FFARACS, London) and worked as a lecturer in University of Malaya in the Department of Anaesthesia. He went into private practice and later joined Assunta Hospital as Consultant Anaesthetist. He has retired from medical practice and presently is a member of the Board of Directors of Assunta Hospital.

Mr Phoon Soon Keong
(Board Member)
Phoon Soon Keong, an accountant by qualification and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He was an Executive Director with PriceWaterhouseCoopers Consulting Sdn Bhd until his retirement in 2010. He currently sits on the Board of Good Shepherd Services. He is also a director of AmMetLife Insurance Berhad, AmMetLife Takaful Berhad and AmGeneral Insurance Berhad.

Dr Assunta Davadass
(Board Member)
Dr Assunta is a medical graduate from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) who did her post graduate studies in Anaesthesiology and Critical Care. She currently practices in a private hospital in Petaling Jaya. She has special interest in palliative care and end-of-life care.

Madam Ho Sook Harn
(Board Member)
Mrs Wong (nee Ho Sook Harn) graduated in 1973 with Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from University of Singapore. She held the position of Director/Pharmacist in Primabumi Sdn Bhd for 13 years and was owner of Farmasi Utama Sdn Bhd from 1987 till 2012. She is currently the owner of a garment factory.

Dr Asma Omar
(Board Member)
Dr Asma Omar has just retired from practice as Paediatric Cardiologist in the Paediatric Department, University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC). She is still spending her time on a part-time basis with the “Teaching and Learning” at the Faculty of Medicine University of Malaya where she devotes part of her time to the Department of Paediatrics, teaching Paediatrics to the postgraduate students.

Associate Professor Dr Lam Chee Loong
Dr Lam is a Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Palliative Medicine at the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC). He completed his Certificate of Completion of Training in the Northern Deanery in England and worked as a consultant in the Marie Curie Hospice and the Northern Cancer Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne prior to returning to Malaysia in 2011.
Associate Professor Dr Loh Ee Chin
Dr Loh is one of the pioneers of Palliative Medicine in Malaysia. She currently works in University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) as a palliative medicine specialist. She founded the Motor Neurone Disease Society for MND patients in Malaysia and is passionate about the needs of patients with progressive neurological diseases.

Dr Lalitha Jeyasingam
(Medical Director)
Dr Lalitha has been a medical practitioner for more than three decades. Fifteen years ago she made a decision to go into full-time hospice work and subsequently obtained qualifications in geriatric and palliative care from Australia. She gained clinical experience in the WHO Pain and Palliative Care Centre in Kerala, S. India under the mentorship of Professor Rajagopal; and in South Australia with Professor David Currow. She joined Assisi Palliative Care in the capacity of Medical Director in May 2015.

Dr Teh Ee Von
(Palliative Care Doctor)
Dr Teh Ee Von obtained her MBBS in 2005, and has worked for over 12 years in various hospitals and clinics throughout Malaysia. This includes Emergency Department experience, Internal Medicine rotations, as well as a 5-year stint in general practice. She has a passion for caring for the elderly, and feels that palliative care represents the ideal model of how all healthcare should be. She joined the ASPAC team in February 2017, and has not looked back since.
