Dear Volunteers /Friends of ASPAC,
Greetings and wishing all of you a great start to the new year! Assisi Palliative Care Bhd (ASPAC) has moved from its previous premises to a newly renovated double storey bungalow at No. 49, Jalan Railway 1/2, 46000, Petaling Jaya. We now have more space to conduct training and teaching sessions for old and new recruits/nurses/medical students/carers – in comfort. As such, we will start off with a training program on February 27th which will run from 8.30am to 4.30pm. The program is attached below for your viewing. Since we have a mix of seasoned and new volunteers we are compelled to start off with some basic lectures during the first half of the day before we move on to Role Plays where participants are free to volunteer to take part . This will be followed by a 2.5 hour mini workshop conducted by Malathy Cobey who is a gifted complementary therapy practitioner & retired nurse. I was fortunate to work with her a few times while she was in Penang several years ago and I have witnessed the amazing benefits of her Touch Therapy with Essential Oils on hospice patients. She has also conducted workshops in Seremban and Penang where health care workers and volunteers have learnt from her.
Please do inform Mr Boey, our administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org if you will be attending. For those of you who have already attended the basic lectures before – you are welcome to come in for the latter half of the program (Communication skills and Touch Therapy with Essential Oils). However, Attendance Certificates will be given only to participants who attend the full day of training. Please inform Mr Boey if you will be attending the whole day or the latter half of the day.
Please do book your seat early and I hope you can inform your friends and family if they are interested.
A registration fee of TEN ringgit is to be paid on arrival to cover costs (one coffee break/ one lunch/ reading materials).
Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions and we will try our best to arrange something suitable for you.
Do bring along a pair of socks to wear indoors as you will be required to remove all footwear before entering the premises . Your cooperation is much appreciated.
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you next month!
With Best Wishes,
Dr Lalitha Jeyasingam
