What do you do?
We are a community palliative care service, which means that we have a team of doctors, nurses, counsellors, and volunteers who visit patients who are terminally ill in their homes. We help relieve physical symptoms, and provide psychosocial and spiritual support to patients as well as their family members. -
Do you have an inpatient hospice where my loved one can stay?
Unfortunately, we do not have the resources for an inpatient facility at the present moment. Instead, we will make visits to your own home and help patients and their family members or caregivers to manage living with their illness. -
Do you provide caregivers?
No, we do not have caregivers who will stay in the patients' homes to look after them. The hospice team will only make home visits as needed to support the patient and their family members, and teach them how to manage with the illness. -
Do you have an equipment rental service?
No, we only loan out equipment to patients under our care according to their needs, and we do not charge a rental fee. -
What kind of patients do you provide palliative care for?
We provide care for seriously ill patients with progressive, life-limiting illnesses. A referral from the doctor currently caring for them is needed – the link to the form is here. You can either fax it (03-77838899) or email it (info@aspac.my) to us, and we will contact you to confirm whether or not we have accepted the referral. -
What are your charges, and how do you get your funding?
Our services are free, because we believe that everyone should have the right to access palliative care, regardless of socioeconomic status. We rely primarily on generous donations from the general public to maintain our services, so please help us to spread the word. -
How do I help?
Talk about it! Tell everyone you know about palliative care, because one of the biggest obstacles we face is the lack of awareness that such services exist. If you wish to donate funds to help sustain our services, go here for details. If you wish to volunteer your skills/time, please drop us an email at info@aspac.my, or give us a call at 03-77838833 on any weekday from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm to find out more. -
Do you take donations in the form of medical items or equipment?
Thank you for your thoughts, but this depends on whether they are suitable for our service. If you wish to donate anything, please do give us a call and then we can decide if it would be useful for our patients.
